Description
This presentation explores the development of Traditional Owner-led climate adaptation initiatives across the Kimberley, with a focus on the importance of relationship-building, collaboration, and long-term partnership approaches. Drawing on experiences from the Living Water Heritage Project, the Wentworth Regional Blueprint, and the West Kimberley Traditional Owner-led Climate Adaptation Strategy, the presentation reflects on how philanthropic, community, research, and governance partnerships can support grounded, place-based climate action. Central to this work is the principle of “bringing people along on the journey” — ensuring Traditional Owners, communities, institutions, and partners move together through shared learning, trust-building, and collective responsibility for caring for Country in a changing climate.
