Description
The Kimberley Aboriginal Health Research Alliance was formed in 2021 as a response to the large volume of siloed Indigenous health research being undertaken in the Kimberley. We will share the journey of KAHRA and the key milestones including:
• The 15 years of Health Research in the Kimberley report
• The Kimberley Aboriginal Health Research Model (KAHRM); which was created as a tool to support improved engagement with Kimberley communities, and what we should expect from researchers wanting to undertake a project in the Kimberley.
• The Kimberley Health Evidence Data Platform (KHEDP) project and its operationalisation of Indigenous Data Sovereignty and Governance principles, including its broader influence.
• The development of the Indigenous Health Research Registry website and how it came to be
KAHRA has been in operation since 2021 and is currently auspiced by the Kimberley Aboriginal Medical Services (KAMS).
