Reform of the Reform or Renewal of the Reform?
Abstract
The Bishops' Commission on the Liturgy of the Australian Catholic Bishops' Conference is proposing a major renewal campaign to 'prepare the way of the Lord' to accompany the launch of the English edition of the 'Roman Missal' of 2002. Any future educational programme will be predicted on the general need and pastoral benefit of deepening the awareness of liturgical theology and the texts. It will be a major challenge, at all levels of Church life, to make a deeper impression on the WHY of these liturgical books, rather than the WHAT of the differences between old and new.
