Abstract

The School of Arts and Sciences at The University of Notre Dame Australia’s Sydney Campus rewarded high achieving students for their efforts today by hosting a congratulatory lunch.

17 students who achieved consistently good grades in 2009 where invited to the celebration as a way thanking them for their contribution to the University and the School’s commitment to achieving excellence.

Executive Dean of Arts and Science, Professor Gerry Turcotte, said it was great to see so many students performing at the very highest level in their studies.

“At the School we want to encourage people to live and breathe excellence, including students and teachers. This high achievers lunch is not only a tool we use to remind students of the importance of striving for excellence, but also of saying well done to those who consistently achieve these benchmarks.

“Our Awards Night, in April, is similarly focused on celebrating the best and brightest, as well as encouraging everyone to strive for excellence. It is also a lovely way to start the academic term,” said Professor Turcotte.

All students who attended the lunch have received a Dean’s letter of commendation.
