Abstract
Parishioners and clergy from St Martin in the Fields Anglican Parish of Kensington visited the University of Notre Dame Australia’s Fremantle Campus this week to follow and observe the Stations of the Cross that are located throughout the university.
The fourteen bronze stations were created by one of Australia’s foremost contemporary artists, Peter Schipperheyn, and depict the significant events that occurred in the last days of Jesus’ life.
The journey was part of the University’s series of Holy Week events and a way for the parishioners to reflect and participate in the Easter story of Jesus’ suffering, death and resurrection.
According to Campus Minister Fr Greg Watson OMI the University’s Holy Week events offer something for everyone within the Christian tradition and are as follows:
- 12.30pm Communal Reconciliation Liturgy followed by Mass
Wednesday 12 th April
- 12.35pm Education Society Mass and Missionioning
Thursday 13 th April
- 12.35pm Ecumenical Liturgy on Christian Service
Good Friday 14 th April
- 10am Stations of the Cross
Individual Confession: Monday to Thursday, 12 – 12.30pm Chaplain’s Office
