Abstract

Business lunches could be a thing of the past for The University of Notre Dame Australia Alumni members… it seems breakfast is now the new way to network, meet new people and swap information.

The University Foundation recently held a breakfast for law and business Alumni at the WA Club, the second in a series of breakfasts set to continue.

The breakfasts are the brainchild of alumni advisory members Toby Hicks and Lejo Ouwendyk, and are aimed at bringing both business and law alumni together for a chance to catch up with university friends and create a forum to network and build relationships for business partnerships and opportunities.

“I have had an active role in organising these breakfasts because I believe the University has provided us with a great foundation for our success and it is now with their support and fellow alumni that our success in opportunities we seek will be achieved.

“With the support of the new Foundation Office we are anticipating a bigger and brighter future,” said Lejo.

More than 20 members turned up to share some business bagels and judicial juice with retired Chief Justice Prof David Malcolm, law lecturers Mr Ben Clark and Mr David Davidson, and Prof Derek Parkin and Mrs Rosemary Thompson from the School of Business.

”We had an excellent turnout of both business and law alumni as well as University representatives. The keynote speaker, Piers Dudman, a Director of MatchPoint Consulting was very interactive and had everyone thinking about how to apply his methodology on how to win the bid in any business environment. All in all good food, good company, and a good time was had by all.” said Lejo.
