Abstract
Fremantle law firm, Garton Smith & Co has sponsored its legal secretary/office manager to undertake a Bachelor of Laws degree at The University of Notre Dame Australia’s Fremantle Campus.
Natasha Britten has worked for Robert Garton Smith for the past five years. Mr Garton Smith who specialises in Corporate and Commercial Law, encouraged Natasha to complete her Law degree at Notre Dame and will be paying for the course. Ms Britten will continue to work with Garton Smith & Co throughout her degree.
“Notre Dame has established a good reputation and it is ideal to be able to attend a university which is in the next street,” said Ms Britten.
Her employer, Rob Garton Smith, said that “Natasha is intelligent and street-smart as well as being a hard worker and tough. She has taken para-legal courses and needs a challenge. I suggested she could become a lawyer if she wanted and I am delighted that she has decided to do this degree. Everyone here will help her every way we can, but it is quite a challenge for her because she is still working for the firm. It will take her 8 years and a lot of dedication and study.
The Fremantle Campus is currently hosting enrolment days for its Schools of Arts & Sciences, Business, Education, Health Sciences, Law, Medicine, Nursing and Philosophy &Theology.
