Abstract

The University of Notre Dame Australia has appointed Mr Alec O’Connell to the position of Executive Director, Division of the Vice Chancellery.

Mr O’Connell was previously the foundation Head and CEO of Trinity, a residential college and conference centre at The University of Western Australia.

Prior to this, Mr O’Connell spent 6 years at the Catholic Education Office of WA and held positions in Planning and Development, Primary Curriculum and the Executive Secretariat and has held a number of teaching and administrative positions in K - 10 and K - 12 schools. Mr O’Connell is the President of the Australian College of Educators (ACE) Western Australia Branch and a National Council member of ACE. He is also a National Committee Member of the Council for Educational Facility Planners International (CEFPI) and was an executive member of the Association of Heads of Australian University Colleges and Halls inc (AHAUCHI).

In 2004 Mr O’Connell was made a Fellow of The National Association of Australian University Colleges, the peak representative body for residents of Australian University Colleges.

Academically Mr O’Connell holds 4 undergraduate qualifications in education, a Master of Education, Master of Management Research and is currently completing a Doctor of Business Administration at the Graduate School of Management at The University of Western Australia.
