Abstract

The University of Notre Dame Australia is pleased to announce the appointment of Professor Julie Quinlivan as the Foundation Dean of Health and Head of the School of Medicine at its Sydney Campus.

Professor Quinlivan is currently Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Melbourne. She is the Head of the Gold Maternity Care Program and Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist at the Royal Women’s Hospital in Melbourne. She is also a Senior Consultant in Adolescent Obstetrics & Gynaecology at the Sunshine Hospital in Melbourne.

The Vice Chancellor of Notre Dame, Dr Peter Tannock, said he was delighted with Professor Quinlivan’s appointment.

“Professor Quinlivan has extensive experience in teaching, medical practice and research in Western Australia, South Australia and Victoria. She has been directly associated with the University of Western Australia, Flinders University and the University of Melbourne”, he said.

“She will be instrumental in the development of the College of Health and the Schools of Medicine and Nursing in Sydney. She is an exceptional young woman who will bring great quality and energy to this vital area of health education on our Sydney Campus.

Notre Dame Sydney will commence classes in Business, Education, Law and Nursing on its Broadway Campus in 2006. Medicine will commence on the Darlinghurst Campus in 2007 subject to Australian Medical Council accreditation.
