Abstract

The University of Notre Dame Australia’s (UNDA) Broome Campus will host its 2008 graduation ceremony on August 22.

Thirty-nine students will graduate from Higher Education, and Vocational Education and Training (VET) courses in the disciplines of Nursing, Education, Arts and Sciences and Business.

More than 300 guests are expected at the traditional outdoor ceremony with many graduands travelling from interstate and throughout the Kimberley to be part of the celebration.

The graduands include the Campus’ inaugural enrolled nursing student, Cindy Murray, and former Notre Dame staff members, Clare Scanlon and Veronica Parker.

The Broome Graduation will be the first official engagement on the Broome Campus for newly appointed UNDA Vice Chancellor, Professor Celia Hammond.

Professor Hammond succeeded Dr Peter Tannock, who retired from the position he held for 16 years on July 31. In what promises to be a significant night Dr Tannock will deliver the Occasional Address.
