Abstract

A senior lecturer from The University if Notre Dame Australia’s Sydney School of Law was recently chosen as one of the academic judges for the prestigious Australian Law Students’ Association (ALSA) Conference.

Mr Francisco Esparraga took part in the annual event that saw over 400 law students from across Australia, New Zealand and the Asia-Pacific compete in numerous law moots, debates and attend a variety of educational forums.

This year’s competition was held at The University of Tasmania in Hobart.

Mr Esparraga initially judged the quarter final of the Moot Competition and the semi final of the Client Interviewing Championship. On the last day of the conference he judged the final of the Paper Presentation Championship.

All the winners were announced at the Gala Dinner and Presentation on the final evening of the conference where Mr Esparraga presented the trophy for the Paper Presentation Championship.

Mr Esparraga commented on the ALSA conference, “It was truly encouraging to see very high standards set by the competing students and the keenness and professional approach demonstrated throughout the competition.

“It was also pleasing to see that students from the Notre Dame School of Law in Fremantle had competed and I look forward to students from the School of Law in Sydney competing in future years,” he said.
