Abstract

Dr Joo-Gim Heaney has been appointed as the new Dean of the School of Business at The University of Notre Dame Australia’s Sydney Campus.

Dr Heaney has been working in the School of Business since 2007, prior to which she worked at Griffith University, Queensland. She has a Bachelor of Economics, Bachelor of Laws from The University of Sydney and a PhD in Business Administration from Florida State University, USA.

She has received numerous awards and scholarships, including the Griffith University Faculty Learning and Teaching Citation and an Outstanding Track Reviewer from the Association of Marketing Theory and Practice (AMTP) (USA).

Dr Heaney has a total of more than 30 refereed publications, in journals such as the Journal of Financial Services Marketing; International Journal of Diversity in Organisations and the Journal of International Consumer Marketing.

In her new role at Notre Dame she will be responsible for academic leadership and management of the School including financial, resource and staff management.

Dr Heaney said she considers it a privilege to be able to serve the University in this capacity.

“I look forward to working closely with the University, its staff and students in developing a School of Business that is recognised nationally and internationally for the high quality of its programs, students and faculty,” Dr Heaney said.

Vice Chancellor, Dr Peter Tannock commented, “I am delighted with Dr Heaney’s appointment, and am confident in her abilities to lead the School of Business in Sydney into the future.”
