Abstract
Italian, Asian and Indian cuisine, Henna painting, Capoeira and a West African drumming performance were all part of celebrating this year’s Multicultural Day at The University of Notre Dame Australia’s Fremantle Campus.
Multicultural Day is celebrated annually by Notre Dame, with this year’s theme being Live. Eat. Love. Staff, students and community members were all invited to come together for the celebrations which also included a Multicultural Day photography competition which was displayed in the University’s main library.
The celebrations were coordinated by the University’s Student Life Office and student volunteers from Notre Dame’s International Student Association. Ms Michelle Gay, Notre Dame’s International Student Liaison and Housing Officer and organiser of the event, was very pleased at the turnout.
“Multicultural Day was such a wonderful success. Seeing the hard-work that the international students put into the day and their faces during the events was very special. We just want to thank everyone who was involved in the planning and supporting of the day’s events. It turned out better than we could have imagined!”
