Requisitions from individuals at King George’s Sound, 1828 to 1830
These documents dated 1 April 1828 detail personal items requested from the colonial purse by the officers of King George Sound. They also contain information about items and the quantity necessary for the successful function of the 39th Regiment of Foot at the outpost, and the maintenance of the men’s health. The information provides an insight into the small, sundry items the men and the small number of women used in their daily routine at the isolated outpost.
