Abstract
In various contexts of lectures, parish and diocesan formation sessions, and parent nights in school sacramental programmes, I have often made this observation about the celebration of funerals in recent decades: I would say that funerals are the most consistent illustration of the positive effects of the renewal and the reform of the liturgy since Vatican II. This comes through consistently in religious communities, parish funerals, in rural and urban communities, with small gatherings and large.
