In various contexts of lectures, parish and diocesan formation sessions, and parent nights in school sacramental programmes, I have often made this observation about the celebration of funerals in recent decades: I would say that funerals are the most consistent illustration of the positive effects of the renewal and the reform of the liturgy since Vatican II.
