Former Director of the Catholic Education Office of Western Australia, Ron Dullard, has been appointed as an Adjunct Professor in the School of Education at The University of Notre Dame Australia's (UNDA) Fremantle Campus.

Professor Dullard has held several roles including a Principalship at Xavier Catholic College; the Deputy Director of the Catholic Education College in WA for five years, and the Director of Catholic Education in WA from 2003-2012.

"During his time as Director of the CEO, Professor Dullard oversaw some significant initiatives, including the introduction of fee discounts for health care card holders, the transition of Year 7 to high school (a move now being adopted by the State Government), and the introduction of the Quality Catholic Schooling initiative," UNDA Vice Chancellor, Professor Celia Hammond, said.

"Professor Dullard has also made a significant contribution to national Catholic Education initiatives, most recently with the Gonski Report, and has increasingly emphasised the opportunity for leadership training and professional development for all staff in Catholic schools.

"I am delighted to welcome Professor Dullard to Notre Dame in his new role and thank him for his ongoing support of our University."

Professor Dullard thanked the Vice Chancellor for the opportunity to contribute to Notre Dame's School of Education.

"I'm pleased to be able to continue my role in the Education sector and also combine that with the teachings of the Church," Professor Dullard said.

"We're always looking at trying to improve educational outcomes for students. I hope I can make a significant contribution to the University to achieve this goal.

"I feel honoured that the Vice Chancellor has offered me this position at WA's only Catholic University."
