Abstract

In the twentieth century there were two major periods of change affecting the parish celebration of Lent, Holy Week, and Easter. From 1954 the Restored Rite of Holy Week was introduced, on the principle that the main events of the Easter Triduum be celebrated in the timeframes that they memorialised.
