Abstract
Early in the new millennium the Sacred Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of Sacraments issued the 'Directory on Popular Piety: Principles and Guidelines (Libreria Editrice Vaticana, 2002)'. In an earlier issue we focused attention on this new Directory and some of the principles (see 'Pastoral Liturgy', Vol. 33 (2-3) p. 2-4). The Directory is a somewhat belated response to a key principle of the Liturgy Constitution that popular devotions and pious exercises should extend from and lead to the sacramental life of the Church(SC§13, §11).
Pastoral Liturgy is published by the University of Notre Dame Australia, School of Philosophy and Theology, Fremantle.
