Abstract
This article examines a new non-conviction based method of confiscation of property suspected of being the proceeds of crime. The Western Australian Parliament has enacted a provision for the confiscation of 'unexplained wealth'. This mechanism is proving to be both effective and lucrative, in the pursuit of ill-gotten gains and the proceeds of organised crime activity.
